The business development professional's purpose is to optimize optionality and long term value at each stage of a company's life. As a company grows and gains traction, it's easy to get enticed and overwhelmed by the numerous opportunities that arise. Heather Roxborough, Senior Director, New Ventures & Transactions Consumer, J&J Innovation : she joined J&J in London after a career at Unilever.

Heather Roxborough, PhD | Senior Director, New Ventures & Transactions, Consumer, Johnson & Johnson Innovation


Heather is Senior Director of New Ventures & Transactions at Johnson & Johnson Innovation, London, where she is responsible for identifying and transacting on transformational innovations within the Consumer sector.   Heather has spent the majority of her career focused on delivering game-changing innovation.  She has over 7 years’ experience in the Venture Capital industry, most recently as Principal at Tate & Lyle Ventures, where she was actively investing in the health & wellness space.  Prior to this, Heather worked for a number of early stage technology funds investing in a broad range of opportunities from consumer healthcare through to diagnostics and digital.

She has held board positions in a variety of start-ups, always assuming a proactive role and working closely with management teams to help define strategy and support the company through to exit.   Heather started her career at Unilever holding a number of innovation roles from new product development through to corporate venturing and new business creation.  She has a BSc in Biochemistry and PhD in Clinical Biochemistry both from Queen’s University, Belfast.
